Humanity Beyond Borders (HBB) was established in 2013 as a Kenyan non-governmental organisation dedicated to improving access to quality and safe health care services in the western region of Kenya.
HBB works at the intersection of health, education, and advocacy to address the urgent need for reproductive health care, reduce unsafe abortion practices, and empower communities with knowledge and resources.
We are committed to the rights-based approach to health, ensuring every individual can make informed and safe reproductive health choices. Our work aligns with Kenya's Constitution, the Reproductive Healthcare Bill, and international human rights frameworks.
Flagship Programmes
Safe Choices Initiative
This program focuses on increasing access to safe abortion services and post-abortion care. Through partnerships with healthcare providers, training programs, and counselling, we ensure access life-saving care without stigma or fear.
Reproductive Health Champions Network
A community-driven initiative aimed at building a network of trained advocates who provide education on reproductive health and rights. These champions serve as trusted voices within their communities, promoting awareness, dispelling myths, and connecting individuals to essential healthcare services.
Leadership Program
This program drives systemic change by engaging policymakers, legal experts, and civil society to advocate for progressive reproductive health laws and policies for reproductive rights in Kenya.
